Dear UTRGV Community,
This is a reminder that UTRGV will soon begin implementing enhancements to the University’s email security environment. These improvements are intended to strengthen protection against phishing, malicious messages, and unwanted email.
As part of this implementation, some lower-priority promotional and marketing emails may be automatically routed to a new Promotions folder rather than your primary inbox. These messages will still be accessible, but this change is intended to help reduce inbox clutter and make it easier to focus on higher-priority email.
What You May Need to Do
After this change is implemented, please periodically check your Promotions folder to ensure messages are being sorted appropriately.
If a message is incorrectly placed in the Promotions folder, move it back to your primary inbox. This helps indicate that similar messages may be important to you.
If you receive lower-priority promotional or marketing messages in your primary inbox, you may move them to the Promotions folder. This helps improve how similar messages are categorized in the future.
Thank you for your support as we continue working to strengthen the University’s cybersecurity posture and improve the email experience for the campus community.
Best regards,
